Emi is Rad.

I've spent the past few days in Tucson, Arizona with my sister and her little family. Ruth Ann has two little girls, Ella, who is 2 and Emi who is almost 6. Emi loves making art and doing "projects". She proclaimed recently that "I want to be just like Auntie Rachie when I grow up!" Unlike her auntie, Emi gets up very early and puts herself to work doing"projects" and creating.

When I come to visit, I usually stay on an inflatable mattress in the office/spare room. I'm not a morning person so, I've had to resort to locking the door as to avoid early morning visitors who can't understand why I'm not nearly as excited to see them at 6am. Emi has a hard time waiting for me to wake up, so she uses her creative abilities to entice me out my room and play.

When I woke up Sunday morning I saw this:

carefully placed underneath the bedroom door. Then there was this:

and these:

leading me to a weekend of fun with my nieces. Emi is so alive, creative and fun and if anything I want to be like her when I grow up.

P.S. I've been helping Emi start her own blog to share her art. It's a bit rough around the edges but I hope you enjoy her creativity as much as me and her mom do...
